The male body has been featured in art since Michelangelo, Donatello and Caravaggio, through to the more recent renderings by photographers such as Greg Bruce, Tom Bianchi, and Christopher Makos — all of whom have influenced my photography. My exploration of the male figure study is driven by the desire to capture the beauty of a simple curve or an interesting line; to show that men can be vulnerable; and to delight in the purity of the human body as an object of art.

I hope that, through my photographs, people come to appreciate the male body as something innocent, natural, and beautiful — as a work of art.

Of course, classical art and photography celebrate the body rather than exploit it, even when pushing new boundaries. But if nude images or such artwork offend you, is not legal to view in your particular jurisdiction, or if you are under 21 years of age, then click here to see my other photography. To me, a good photograph captures spirit and movement, whether it's of a person, a building, or a cornfield. It's more than a "picture of something," but a moment in life. More . . .

Shooting locations

I have an amazing studio in my home, which is near Ft. Benjamin Harrison State Park and other places that are great for photos. Weather and time permitting, we can shoot outside as well as in the studio. I also enjoy shooting on location in Broad Ripple, Fountain Square, or downtown. More . . .

"Scott has been by far one of my favorite photographers that I've come across in the Midwest. He knows how to make the stress that is usually straining for 'the perfect shot' into a comfortable session where you can relax and take pictures honestly. More . . .
